Tonight I did another editorial illustration for my company newsletter. This article was about the power of touch, whether it be a full-body massage or a simple pat on the back at work. Having contact with other people, however small, has the power to increase your mood and your self-confidence.
For this piece I wanted to practice the more painterly techniques I’ve learned so far. Seeing that I can do it with my own drawings and have it come out so well really makes me feel good about the direction my work is going. I think I’m building a good foundation for when I’m ready to start much more complicated, time-consuming pieces.
I like this more painterly style. The expression on the man’s face is wonderful… it seems to really express the idea behind the article (as you summarised it here!)
I’m really enjoying the more painterly style and think I will probably stick with it for a long time. Thank you!!
